Finally we can join the shirt front and back, and stitch it up. Attach SHIRTFRONT to SHIRTBACK: select one part, front or back, click the attach button, and then click on the other part ... the two parts will then be attached as one whole part ... (the attach button is on the Command panel in the EDIT GEOMETRY section, below the modifier stack). After, unclick the attach button or you may found yerself accidently attaching the abdomen to yer shirt! Once shirt parts are attached, you can stitch them together by taking pairs of vertices and collapsing them. (see footnote 2*** if you wanna use Target Weld instead of Collapse) ... Select two vertices, click COLLAPSE; and then they were one. On to the next pair. What can go wrong? Picture below is around the neck ... |

| All stitched up top ... You could round the neck portion somewhat just by moving vertices. | ||

And the sides ... you can begin where three vertices are collapsed rather than two because of the narrowing of the figure around the waist. |

|
||
| And all done. Note the triangle created where the three vertices are joined. | ||

| Before and after Meshsmooth ... Of course you can start with a plane larger thatn 8x8 you get better results ... or some other mesh. This has been kept as simple as possible. | ||

| Sleeves will be the next step ... | ||

(2*** You can use Target Weld rather than Collapse (here is a little tutorial showing how to use TARGET WELD to join vertices). Early in this tutorial I'm using COLLAPSE! It can be slower but it's easier for beginners to follow in 3d space, less can go wrong, and there's not many vertices) |
