Come with me where tiny birds
sing so sweetly every day
As they dwell within the trees
which grow along the right of way
not a sign of any napping
Always busy that's their habit
from early morn till close of dayHearken to the gentle breezes
stirring in the so green grasses
Such a pleasant sound to hear
as each precious moment passes
Now a swishing in the trees
accentuates the summer scene
Where all the world is beautiful
and all the world is oh! so greenAt the midday in the heat we will
find a shady corner
There to enjoy a special treat
while we rest our weary feet
An orchestra of insect players
will do their best to entertain
We may feel a quiet peace
and vow to make this trip againNow the day begins to wane
our precious moments hasten on
The comforts of the country lane
the happy time the jolly fun
Let us keep these memories
to treasure in our heart
To hold us close together
the while we are apartFrank Paylor
