GRANDPA
I know of a man who is eighty and three
who's as much of a man
as a man ought to be
He walks down the street
with a gleam in his eye
and shares a bright smile
with each new passerby
So proudly he walks
head held high in the air
one could only believe
he has never a care
He just keeps on going
without hesitation
there seems no preset plan
no set destination
Quite like a young lad
who just sets out to roam
he enjoys his travels
then finds his way home
There are those things in life
quite beyond our compare
moments so precious
you just have to be there
Things to be treasured
as sweet memories
not lost in the path
of a wandering breeze
With family and friends
life is ours to explore
we should each do our best
one can ask nothing more
Do be gracious to others
whoever they are
please do give some heed
to your humble grandpa
