Humanity In Limbo

How very shameful 'tis today to see
the downcast along life's way
With their bowed heads and leaden feet
shuffling weakly along the street
What once were true and noble men
know nothing now but days of pain
They do not see the folks pass by
their sad plight surely makes them shy
Their minds seem blank their spirits low
they seem to have no place to go

Now in another part of town folks watch
their stocks go up or down
They pile up more big stacks of gold
to them a wonder to behold
Likely too they wonder why their piles
have not yet reached the sky
How very sad with so much need
success derives from so much greed

And then there are our governments
so very loud in their intents
Not promising to feed poor folk
that would be too much of a joke
While normal folk are far too lax
they give the rich a cut in tax

These are the facts this is the way
with lessons learned from U.S.A.
There are lots of bucks at election time
but for the poor folks not a dime
Things really have gone out of sight
how can some humans sleep at night
