Outlook & Progress
i.
Outlook
As we look upon our world today
what can we do? what can we say?
So many changes have occurred
thoughts are dimmed, visions blurred
Much of what has come about
tends to make one twist and shout
Then too, upon the other hand,
so many wondrous things are planned
Perhaps we're seeing in creation
the emergence of a brand new nation
Cheer up good folks, wear your best smile
friendly kinship is worthwhile
Life can be beautiful, young and gay
as we traverse each new living day
With your families and your friends
real happiness begins and ends
We each add to the common good
helping others as we should
No matter how the die is cast
we will fulfill our dreams at last
ii. Progress
In my time so much has changed
some things made new, some rearranged
Some things that once were rather small
have been replaced by things quite tall
The dashing horses once so neat
replaced by cars which have no feet
We now have movies and TV
which are a boon for you and me
And best of all this is a hoot
both young and old can now compute
