WITH IT
I sometimes wondered as the days rushed by,
with nothing to do and with no fish to fry
If perhaps I should find something that I could do
thus to look on the world with a much different view
With my one foot just dragging the other asleep
you see I'm retired and I'm quite prone to creep
I don't see things really at their very best
yet with what I do see I am truly impressed
So during this time of great thinking and wishin
I made an historic, courageous decision
I'd get on the web and I'd get me a site
my friends there could greet me with howls of delight
There is no greater gift I could ever present
than small bits of chatter and lively comment
Having made these decisions as I felt my eyes closing
Thought I'd take forty winks yes it was time for dozing
Well here I am, back, just a little bit older
yet still quite undaunted, if anything bolder
When an idea hits me I try hard to follow
either up on a hill or down in a hollow
I wrestle each facet of things to the ground
and build on the good bits that are to be found
Only then do I rest as I sit back in wonder
Relieved of the tensions that I have been under
