| INTRODUCTION
PUREZONE Ozone Sensor is designed to activate
an alarm circuit and/or shut down an ozone generator if the OSHA safety
level of 0.100 ppm is exceeded. Use of Ozone Sensor is highly recommended
in commercial and/or custom designed application where use of concentrated
ozone is applied.
Anything in excess is not good. OSHA’s 8 hours
exposure limit for ozone is 0.1 ppm. OSHA’s short term (15 minutes) exposure
limit is 0.3 ppm. Anything over 0.3 ppm exposure can damage human tissues.
STATE-OF-THE-ART TECHNOLOGY
-
Two yellow LED indicators warn of climbing
ozone levels at 50 ppb (0.05 ppm) and 75 ppb (0.075 ppm)
-
A red indicator turns on when the output relay
is activated at 100 ppb (0.100 ppm)
-
A self test button will confirm calibration
and check the complete alarm circuit operation
-
A "fail-safe" circuit design will activate
the alarm circuit upon most internal electronics failures or power failure
-
A green LED indicator shows proper circuit
operation and ozone concentrations in the safe range
CALIBRATION
The alarm trip point is factory calibrated to
0.1 ppm (0.2 mg/m3) ozone, with an accuracy of ± 0.03 ppm
EFFECT OF OTHER COMMON GASSES
The sensor is largely insensitive to hydrogen,
hydrocarbons, carbon dioxide, ethanol, ammonia and sulfur dioxide, with
only a slight sensitivity to other oxidizing gases such as chlorine and
nitrogen dioxide
EFFECT OF TEMPERATURE AND RELATIVE
HUMIDITY
-
Largely insensitive to variations in relative
humidity throughout the operating range of 0 to 85%
|
OS-100
|
-
The alarm trip point is insensitive to variations
in temperature through out the operating range of 32°to 104°F (0°to
40°C)
PRODUCT SPECIFICATION
THREE POSITION MODE SWITCH
-
Test mode-a calibration level equivalent to 0.100 ppm replaces the
sensor. In the test mode the red indicator should be ‘On’ and the alarm
circuit should be activated. This test is independent of actual ozone concentrations.·
-
Standby Mode-normal circuit operation, except the output relay is bypassed
to temporarily turn off the external alarm circuit.
-
Operate Mode-normal circuit operation
CONTROL RELAY
Relay contacts are rated at 240V AC / 5A or 30V DC / 5A
POWER
8 to 18 VAC at 500 mA supplied through a 120 VAC, 60 Hz plug in transformer
(included with North American orders)
ENCLOSURE
High impact molded ABS
DIMENSIONS
5.30"x4.00"x1.25" (LxWxH)
