I'm a Baby Boomer too!
Stephen Ramjewan
Who are the Baby Boomers?

The 76 million people born between 1946 and 1964.

You know you're a boomer when you feel like the morning after -- even though you haven't been anywhere the night before. [More]

Please feel welcome to write to me if the car you bought brand new is now an antique (twenty or more years old).

Baby Boomers ...

Age is merely mind over matter. If you don't mind, it really doesn't matter. The perfect age is somewhere between old enough to know better and too young to care.

As we baby boomers grow older, we tend to reflect on the past. We remember the "good old days" and the people we knew then: friends, classmates, co-workers, neighbors and others.

We sometimes wish to hear from or at least about them. Did they marry the person they loved when we knew them? Did they have kids? How many? Where are they now?

Yes, sadly some of them have gone to the great beyond and others have moved on to towns and cities around the world. That makes it all the more difficult for us to contact each other. Fortunately, the advent of the Internet helped to bridge that gap -- a little!

With the correct name and some luck, one could now find anyone with a web presence. Unfortunately, that is mostly true for males because it depends on the person having the same name and therefore excludes the females who changed their names when they got married.

A few names from my Primary School days (1958 to 1964): Angela Reyes, Amoy Assam, Helen Chin, Myrtle Mahabir and Neila Bagoo.

From Secondary School (1964 to 1969): Gail Lalla, Joan Bernadine, Patricia Blackman and Zenobia Mohammed.

Later in life (1975 to 1976): Natasha Mohammed, Nancy Jackson and Lisa-Marie Khan.

If you happen know any of these people, please consider forwarding this page to them.

You know you're a boomer when ...
  • Your back goes out more than you do
  • You don't care where your wife goes, as long as you don't have to go along
  • You sing along with elevator music
  • Your idea of a night out is sitting on the patio
  • You realize that caution is the only thing you care to exercise
  • Getting lucky means finding your car in the parking lot
  • You wonder how you could be over the hill when you don't remember being on top of it
  • Your secrets are safe with your friends because they can't remember them either

What others say about age ...
  • When people tell you how young you look, they are also telling you how old you are. Cary Grant, actor (1904-1986)
  • A man is not old until his regrets take the place of dreams. Yiddish proverb
  • You're only young once, but you can be immature forever.
  • With age comes wisdom. Sadly, age sometimes comes alone.

Be careful what you ask for. You might get it ...

A man and his wife, now in their 60's, were celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary. On their special day, a good fairy came to them and said that because they had been such a devoted couple she would grant each of them a very special wish.

The wife wished for a trip around the world with her husband. Whoosh! Immediately she had airline and cruise tickets in her hands. The man wished for a female companion 30 years younger. Whoosh! Immediately he turned ninety!!! Gotta love that fairy!

You are old if this could have been you ...

An elderly man goes into a brothel and tells the madam he would like a young girl for the night. Surprised, she looks at him and asks how old he is. "I'm 90 years old," he says. "Ninety!" comments the madam. "Don't you realize you've had it?" "Oh, sorry," said the old man, "How much do I owe you?"
