"THORN"
Winner of the Cheryl MacKenzie Memorial Award (ASCO) in 2006
Cheryl too will always be remembered in our hearts -
like Thorn, gone too soon......
August 22, 2002 - May 8, 2008
Thorn, or Mr.T as he was known by all who loved him, crossed the Rainbow Bridge on May 8th. His lymphangiectasia (aka irritable bowel syndrome) led to complications and an infection in his pancreas that he did not have the energy or will to fight. My dear, sweet boy will be forever missed, but will always be remembered for the smile on his face....especially when he did his chute work at flyball practice!!! rest well my dear man...have fun playing flyball with Rio in heaven!

"RIO"
August 13 / 92 - July 10 / 07

Rio was my first Aussie, my best friend, my companion through good times and bad. She came home with me at 12 weeks of age and her life ended peacefully just days short of her 15th birthday. She was a remarkable dog - so smart that sometimes it was almost eerie. She exemplified the word versatility - earning title in obedience, tracking, flyball and agility. She was also the first Aussie to gain 'altered conformation' points in Canada. Although Rio never had offspring of her own, her memory will live in all the dogs that carry the RIOMESA name.....sleep well my dear 'squishy'
Risingstar Born to Fly Can/Am CD
"DELTA"
September 7 / 00 - October 5 / 05
Delta's registered name came from a Sarah Evans song....Born to Fly....and I did not realize how appropriate it was until the end.
I placed Delta in a home to see if she would become their forever dog....instead, they lost her. We searched and searched - with some luck - and Fiesta's tracking ability, we found evidence she had been 'hiding out' in a tree farm field. My mom spent two nights up there, one alone, one with me....she will never know how much I will forever appreciate her efforts....but still no signs of Delta, except for a missing shoe and some footprints. Finally, after she had been missing for over two weeks, a gentleman called to say he had seen her on his back deck about a week previous - he had tried to coax her inside, as she was wet , cold and scared. When he opened the door, Delta ran. Later that day, he found her body at the side of the road near his property - she had been hit by a passing car. He phoned because he had seen my "Missing Dog" poster in the general store - and thought I should know - I thanked him for that..
I would like to thank Mom, Les, Theresa, Chris & Angela, Randy & Sharon and Linda for all they did to try and find Dee-Dee.....
Delta is in heaven now, where she can fly freely and forever........
