One of the first things that happens during the first meeting between a copywriter and a potential client is the viewing of the writer's portfolio. It's a difficult situation as the client tries to grasp the writer's entire creative career in a few moments of leafing through a portfolio. Usually only headlines and opening hooks can be read. A copywriter struggles to obtain finished samples of his work and can never leave them with the client.

This web site presentation now makes it possible for prospective clients to more thoroughly read my 'virtual' creative portfolio -- before the initial meeting.

Over my 30-year career I've accumulated a closet full of writing samples. It's all been distilled into a small portfolio that can be viewed in person in 15 minutes. I have attempted to reproduce as much of it as possible here in "Initial Reaction". Understand that some of my better writing samples can't be properly reproduced here. Also, the body copy for lengthier items such as newsletters and corporate brochures would be difficult to read in an online format. I have chosen the ones that can be properly scanned and reproduced in html format. Where possible, I've added click through enlargements to enable you to read the body copy.

My portfolio is intended to demonstrate my extensive experience as well as writing creativity. For this reason, I've included samples from earlier phases of my career.
