What is Armageddon?
1. With the falling
of the Armageddon is the year of the plagues. It
begins first plague, and ends at the second coming It
is the 'Time of of Christ. trouble' and the 'Day of
Vengeance'. (Rev 38:22,23; Isa 16:16,14; Job 34:8;
Isa 63:4).
2. Armageddon
signifies God at war with lost evil men for the
controversy of Zion (the church) (Isa. 34:8; Isa.
24:1-6). Men war against God by seeking to kill His
saints (Matt. 10:24,25,40), but God eventually
delivers them (Eze. 38:39; Joel 3:9-16; Dan 12:1).
3. Babylon who
leads the entire world against God will be the
special object of God's wrath. (Jer 50:1,2; Rev
16:19; Rev 18:4).
4. The plagues
begin to fall upon Babylon's followers first, and by
the time the fifth plague reaches, it begins to fall
directly upon Babylon. (Rev 16:1-10).
5. The first four
plagues are not universal. They take a period of 15
days less of a whole year. Great Controversy p. 551.
6. The last three
plagues fall within a period of 15 days (1 hr), which
are the last remaining days of the year of the
plagues; they end with the literal appearance of
Christ in the heavens. (Rev 18:10,17,19; Rev 6:
15-17; Rev 19: 11-21. 24 divided into 360 Jewish days
(1 year) equals 15 days. Thus the 1 hr is 15
prophetic days) .
7 . The death
decree and the time of Jacob's Trouble begin a little
while after the first plague. (Great Controversy p.
538-563; Gen 32:24-30; Jer 30:5-7), and ends with the
5th plague when God's people are delivered (Rev
16:10; Great Controversy p. 557-558).
8. Just before the
last 15 days begin, there will be simultaneous
movements in different lands for the destruction of
God's people (G.C P. 557,558). As they rush
(Euphrates) upon them with jeering and shouts of
imprecations to slay them, a dense darkness, darker
than the night which is the fifth plague falls upon
the kingdom of the Beast which is the world. This
begins the last 15 days in which Babylon is actually
destroyed. (11 Chron 20: 1-30; II Sam 22:1-28; Ps
48:1-9; Jer 47; Joel 3:9-17; Rev 16:10; Dan 12:1).
9. The dense
darkness (Isa 13:10; Joel 3:15; Rev 16:10) arrests
the throng in their murderous steps (G.C p. 557).
They see the bow of promise encircle the praying
saints, they see where they have gone wrong with
regards to the Sabbath. The false pastors confess
their work of misleading the people (G.C p.
557,560,572-574), thus Babylon looses support from
the masses, this is the outpouring of the sixth
plague (G.C p. 574; Jer 51:36; Rev 16:12).
10. Tile fifth and
sixth plagues take 7 1/2 days in their duration.
11. Then at the
seventh plague, the sound 'It is done' (Rev 16: 17),
the last 7 1/2 days of the 15 begins, and ends at the
literal appearance of Christ in the heavens (Rev
6:15-17). Rev 8:1 shows this duration of time that it
takes for Christ arid His angels, the Kings of the
east, (Rev 16: 12; Isa 21:2,9; G.C p. 554, 561 ) to
reach the earth from heaven.
12. During the last
7 1/2 days of this earth's history, great things will
be happening upon the earth. At the falling of the
seventh plague there will be a great earthquake (Rev
16:18), hail will begin to fall (Rev 16:21), the
three types of religions (Roman Catholicism, Apostate
Protestantism and Spiritualist Eastern Religions)
will split up from their unnatural union (Rev 16:19).
They will fight
against each other, every man's hand will be against
his brother (11 Chron20:23; Zec 14: 13; G. C p. 574),
the false pastors wil1 be destroyed (3 T p. 266, 267;
G. C p. 574). There will be racial, class,
ideological, civil, and political wars erupting on
all fronts. Also there will be riot, revolt,
revolution and bloodshed in every nation upon the
earth, the earth will be deluged in blood (G.C p.
35,36, 538,539).
Esau or the
Edomites will fall in this period (Isa 34:1-7). The
nations of Europe and some others, who embraced the
philosophy of Communism will turn upon the harlot
Babylon; they will attack and burn with fire and
destroy some of the remaining papal institutions,
churches, priests, bishops and cardinals (Rev
17:16,17). The nations will break up from the great
earthquake. Inhabited islands will disappear below
the sea, mountain chains will sink, there will be the
shriek of human voices above the roar of the tempest,
the very foundations of the earth wil1 be broken up
(C.C p. 558).
Christ will then
appear in the east in a small dark cloud which will
become brighter than a thousand noon day suns as it
draws closer to the earth (C.C p. 561,562). The sea
will begin to boil and huge rocks will be thrown up
all over the earth, there will be destruction
everywhere. The brightness of Christ's glory and that
of the thousands of radiant forms that will fil1 the
sky slay the remnants of the wicked. In this the Pope
and the remnants of the papal hierarchy and
institutions will be finally destroyed. (11 Thess.
2:8; G.C p. 507). Christ will resurrect the sleeping
saints of all the ages, they will be changed from
mortality to immortality with the living saints in
the twinkling of an eye, and together they will be
caught up to meet Christ in the heavens, and so shall
they ever be with Him (I Cor. 15: 52-54; I Thess. 4:
15-17; John 14: 1-3).
THE TRUE
POSITION OF EZEKIEL 9
13. At the falling
of the seventh plague there will be a partial
resurrection (Dan 12:2; G.C p. 559) and it is from
this time to the literal appearing of Christ in the
heavens that false Adventist ministers and people
will be destroyed (Eze 9:1-6; 3 T p. 266,267; G.C p.
560,561,572-575).
14. They had abused
their privileges over God's flock, misled them, ruled
over them, scattered them, caused them to be kept
from the truth, and caused many to be lost and
destroyed. (Jer 23:1,2; Jer 25:34-37; Jer 50:6,7; Eze
34; Testimonies Vol. 5 p. 209-212). For this cause
God will move them out of their positions (Eze
34:10,27) and set true shepherds over them (Jer
23:4).
15. Armageddon is
the judgement of God upon all the living wicked after
probation is closed. It is the year of the plagues,
Rev 18;10,17,19 gives us three repetitive statements
about the hour it takes to bring Babylon to ruin.
This hour is equal to a period of 15 days.
WHO AND WHAT THE
PAPACY IS OVERTHROWN BY!
1. Overthrown by
the Saints (Dan 7:26; Dan 8:2; Jer 51:19-24; Dan
2:34,35,44) as the preaching of Protestantism
dethroned the Papacy causing its wounding (Dan
11:31-34; Rev. 13:10),so the preaching of Loud Cry
eventually lead to its fal1(Rev 18).
2. Overthrown by
the plagues (Jer 50:13, 25,27,28-32; Jer. 51:6; Rev 18:4,8; Rev 16:10-12). This
is the justice of God upon the Papacy (Rev 16:5-7).
3. Overthrown by
the ungodly (Rev 18:8 (last part) Rev 17:16,17; Rev
18:18,21; Rev 16:19; Jer 50:1-3,9-12,14,21-24,41,42;
Jer 51:42; Zech 14:13; 2 Chr 20:23). When the people
realize that they were deceived they will retaliate.
4. Overthrown by
the Second coming of Christ (II Thes 2:8; Rev 19:20;
Den 7:11; Jer 50:46; Jer 51:1; Jer 51:25,28,29;
Zech14:12). The brightness of Christ and His angels
destroys the remaining papal institutions and people.
