Study on The Three Justifications
By Nyron Medina
1. It is God that justifies the believer. Rom 8:33. Gal 2:16. 1Cor 6:11.
2. The first justification is identified by three important aspects, they are:
(a) Justification by God's grace (God's attitude) Rom 3:24. Tit 3:7.
(b) That grace is God's attitude is seen in these texts: Ex 33:19. Ex 34:6. 2Sam 12:22. Neh 9:17,31. Ps 86:15. Joel 2:13. Jon 4:2.
(I) Thus it is God's grace, or attitude that saves us. Eph 2:5,8. Tit 2:11
b) Justification by faith (God's communicant).Rom 3:28,30. Rom 5:1. Gal 2:16. Gal 3:8,24.
(I) That faith communicates is seen in the following texts:
1. Faith communicates the Spirit. Gal 3:14.
2. Faith communicates Christ to the heart Eph 3:17.
3. Faith communicates righteousness to the soul Phil 3:9, Rom 3:22. Rom 10:6
4. Faith edifies and gives understanding. 1 Tim 1:4. Heb 1
5. Because faith is the revealed truths of Christ or of the gospel. Heb
11:1. Rom 10:8. 1 Tim 4:6. Phil 1:27.
c) Justification by Imputation (God's method). Rom 4:2-6,9,20-24.
(I) Imputation (counting/reckoning) is the method God uses to make us righteous (which is giving us righteousness) Gen 15:5,6. Gal 3:2,6-8.
3. This first Justification, which is by grace, by faith and by imputation,
which we have just discussed above as also called justification by blood. Rom 5:9.
4. It is called Justification by blood because:
a) Blood symbolizes life Lev 17:11,14. Deut 12:23.
b) To be spiritually minded is to have life Rom 8:6.
c) And Justification gives you the Spiritual mind or life.Rom 5:1,16-18.
5. The second Justification is called Justification by works (this is Sanctification) 2Chr 6:23. Jam 2:21,24,25.
a)It is Sanctification because it is the holy works that comes from faith. Jam 2:14-18,20,22,26. Eph 5:25-27.
b) Sanctification also saves 2Thess 2:13 (Heb 13:12,Col 1:14, 1 Pet 1:18,19).
6. The third and final Justification is called Justification on the account of Works. (this is the investigative judgement) Job 13:16,18. Isa 45:25. Matt 12:36,37. Rom 2:13.
a) It is called Justification on the account of works because it is a justification that will be based upon the sum total of our works. 1 Cor 4:1-5.
b) It is called the INVESTIGATIVE JUDGEMENT because it is a justification that occurs in the last judgement. Rom 2:13,16.
7. The three Justifications could be summed up as:
1. Justification through faith is the removal of the Carnal mind and the Granting of the Spiritual mind Rom 4:8. (Rom 8:6.Rom 5:1).
2. Justification through works is God maintaining a person's righteousness
through works (which is sanctification) Jam 2:21-26.
3. Justification on the account of works is the blotting out or forgiveness
for past sins in the final Judgement (1Jn 4:17. 1 Pet 4:8.).
