The Masonic Order insists that everyone who applies does so freely and voluntary, as the solicitation of members is strictly forbidden. We require that those who apply do so because of a favorable opinion they have formed of our Order and its members, and not out of mere curiosity or to attain social or financial betterment.

The Masonic fraternity is founded on high ideals and sound moral principles. It believes in the Fatherhood of God, the Brotherhood of Man, and the Immortality of the Soul. It demands belief in a Supreme Being and accepts men of all religious creeds. An atheist CANNOT become a member.

The discussion of religious or political topics within the Lodge is forbidden, and Masonry does not interfere with a member's religion or politics, as such, yet constantly strives to develop the noblest qualities of a man. Strict adherence to the Moral Law and the laws of our country are required.

We wish you to know NOW that Masonry is not a service club, nor a benefit society, although many of our members may be members of such associations. We have no direct benefits such as some of these organizations may proffer, but assistance may be extended to those of our members who, through misfortune, circumstances, or chance, may find themselves in distressful situations.

There are several degrees in Masonry, each with certain vows attached to them, but these vows are NOT inconsistent with your civil, moral, religious or family duties.

If you are admitted to our fraternity you will have certain financial obligations, the extent of which you can ascertain from any member. In addition, you will be expected to commit to memory certain parts of our ritual, and, of course, we expect that you will attend as many of our meetings as is possible.

The application for admission to the Lodge will contain some questions which must be answered fully and truthfully. When your application is received at the Lodge, a Committee will make careful enquiries about you in the Community at large and will meet with you. After the report of that Committee is received in the Lodge, the Lodge members will decide if it is desirable that you join our fraternity and that decision will be relayed to you.
