Albums That Don’t Suck
Everyone has an opinion regarding music. Be it a certain genre is more valid than another or perhaps certain artists are more vital than others. I believe that music is very subjective and can not be held in comparison. No one's opinion is any more valid than the next persons. That said, the following is my list of favorite albums.
Neil Young- Everybody Knows this is nowhere
This album is known as the bible of grunge. Everyone from Nirvana to Pearl Jam credit this as being of major influence. After 30 years it still seems fresh
.The Who- Who’s Next
This album gave us not one, but two anthems in Baba O’Riley and Wont Get Fooled Again.
Not only that but gave a forum for public urination!
Led Zeppelin- Led Zeppelin 4
You cant seriously have a best of list without Led Zeppelin. Difficult to choose one album, but this one wins out for giving us the greatest makeout song of all time.
Pink Floyd- The Wall
Any time you feel your life sucks, take a look at Roger Waters personal Hell. Most people would say Dark Side of the Moon is better, but I’m not most people.
Cheap Trick- Live At Budokan
This is the original power pop album. Its silly fluff, but I love it.
Sex Pistols- Nevermind the Bullocks
The sex pistols were the monkees gone awry. Made up band that actually became vital. Anger is an energy indeed.
Nirvana- Nevermind
As with everything else, the 80’s produced nothing of merit. This is the album that rescued us from the cess pool of 1980’s music.
Radio Head- Pablo Honey, The Bends, OK Computer
I can’t choose just one, so I’ll take all three.
Beck- Odelay
One of the most eclectic artists around. Made our parents old record collection and wardrobe seem cool.
Pure- Generation 6 Pack re-issue
Two albums for the price of one.
Honorable Mention- Pearl Jam - 10, LimbLifter- self titled, CCR- Cosmos Factory, Ramones - Anthology
As stated above, this list is my opinion and is of no significance at all. I would love to hear your comments and see what albums you might select.
