May 1987 - Made presentations to the leaders of the three main Political Parties in Ottawa
July 1987 - Joined the Michigan Group to challenge the Provincial Councils Bill in the Supreme
Court of Sri Lanka
July 1988 - Hosted a Conf of delegates from Canada, USA, UK, Australia and NZ calling for the
Abrogation of the Indo-Lanka Accord and De-merger of the North-East provinces.
Oct 1988 - Made a presentation to the Canada Asia Working Group of the Anglican Church on Current
Sri Lankan Issues involving Tamil Tiger Terrorism and the absence of peace.
Mar-Jul - Lobbied 26 Members of Canada’s Parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee to seek the
1989 banning of the Tamil Tiger Terrorists
Aug 1989 - Held a demonstration outside the Indian Consulate in Toronto calling on India to Stop her
Military Adventure in Sri Lanka and formation of a Tamil National Army
Aug 1990 - Organised a Canadian Delegates Conference to discuss strategy in lobbying the Canadian
Government to seek the outlawing of the LTTE and its front organizations
1991-1993 - Intense lobbying of Canadian Media, Members of Parliament and building contacts
Oct 1994 - Addressed the Political Science Students of the University of Toronto on the Conflict in SL
Jun 1995 - Answered LTTE’s campaign for a two state solution following their huge demonstration by
Widely circulating our own paper on Sri Lanka’s Dilemma to reach a Negotiated Peace
Jul 1995 - Joined US Groups to seek the outlawing of the LTTE in the USA incl. Participation in 3 Conf.
Jun 1996 - Presented a Petition with 1,500 signatures to the House of Commons thro’ Hon. Val Meredith,
MP, seeking the designation of the LTTE as a terrorist group, which she read into the Hansard
Apr 1997 - Held a debate with a pro-LTTE Delegation at the request of Jim Karygiannis, MP, with no
common ground being found, as the LTTE maintained that a separate state was the solution.
Feb 1998 - Having held SL Ind. Day in Toronto for 10 years, we hosted the Grand 50th Ann Celebrations
May 1998 - Petitioned the Rt. Hon. Prime Minister of Canada seeking proscription of the LTTE
Mar 1999 - Protested to the Ontario Legislature on the proposed Bill by Jim Brown MPP to exempt the
WTM/TESOC Off on Broadview Avenue from prop taxes, which was not taken up as a result
Mar 2000 - Published a 118 page report compiled with the special assistance of Dr. Rohan Gunaratna on
on the LTTE’s organizations and key activists in Canada for submission to the Government.
Jun 2000 - Held Demo in Ottawa outside the House of Commons demanding the banning of the LTTE
Jun/Sep’00 - Contributed $5,000 to the Denzil Kobbekaduwa Trust and $2,500 to Thawalama Dev Fdn.

Apr 2001 - Objected to CRTC’s grant of a licence to Tamil Vision Inc. resulting in a lawsuit by TVI
Claiming $7.75 Million in damages.

Sep 2003 - Funds were sent to Thawalama for Rural Computer Training Centres and Lakviru Sevana
for provision of training of injured security forces personnel.

Dec 2004 - Joined WAPS Members to hold a follow up Conf at the BMICH in Colombo
Dec 2004 - Assisted the Toronto Maha Vihara to carry out tsunami rehabilitation work in Sri Lanka

Kadirgamar with participation of diplomats and Cdn Govt Reps at the North York Centre
Nov 2005 - Helped victims of Hurricae Katrina in the US and Earthquake victims in Pakistan
Dec 2005 - Carried out a vigorous media campaign against the LTTE’s false propaganda and
atrocities, issuing ten media releases during the year.
Feb 2006 - Joined WAPS Members to hold an important conference at the BMICH in Colombo to
voice the opinion of the silent majority before the Sri Lankan delegation left to Geneva
Mar 2006 - Released an 11 page letter to Mr. Nicholas Burns, US Under Secretary of State, the Co-Chairs
and key World Leaders regarding the Tamil community’s perceived grievances, claims and
demands for the right to self-determination and establishing a separate state.
Apr 2006 - Held a Media Conference in Toronto following the banning of the LTTE
Apr 2006 - Had a meeting with Hon. Stockwell Day, Minister of Public Safety, Hon. Jason Kenney, MP
and Mr. Mathew John from the PMO to thank the Government for outlawing the LTTE.. This
was followed up with a Media Conference in the House of Commons Press Gallery.
Aug 2006 - Submitted six page memo to SL Min of Constitutional Aff re our proposals on power sharing
At the District level and the Centre to meet the aspirations/grievances of all communities.
Mar 2007 - Held a well attended symposium with Falk Rovik of Norwegians Against Terrorism at the
North York Civic Centre to expose Norwegian Peace Facilitator’s partiality towards the LTTE in Sri Lanka’s Peace Process.
Apr 2007 - Screened the movie “Sudu Sevanali” to raise funds for Sri Lankan charities.
Jun 2007 - Assisted WAPS to host a meeting with Falk Rovik of NAT in Colombo
Jun-Dec07 - Raised Funds for Humanitarian Assistance in Sri Lanka, including Supply of School Books
with Thawalama to Tamil children in Shanthimale(EP), Mosquito Nets with SLA to needy in Omanthai, Education assistance to Grade V Scholars in Konketiyawa thro’ Dharmavijaya,
Medical Camps in remote areas of Sri Lanka by Success Colombo, and providing Equip to
the Surgical Div. of the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital.
Feb 2008 - Took up issue of LTTE flag being displayed at York Univ with Min. of Public Safety and
sought special. Measures incl. Laws to ban glorification of terrorism.
Apr 2008 - Presented a petition to the House of Commons through Hon. Art Hanger seeking further
measures to prevent raising of funds by LTTE’s front organizations such as the WTM, TRO,
and other bogus fronts.
Jun 2008 - Issued media release thanking Min. of Public Safety and the Govt. of Canada for outlawing
The World Tamil Movement.
Jun 2008 - Held a Spl Gen Mtg. To welcome the new Consul General and raise funds for Api Wenuwen
Api Fund attracting over 200 members and supporters
Jun 2008 - Organized a demonstration in Toronto with the support of other groups to condemn LTTE
terrorism and call for wider measures to prevent fundraising for terrorism.
Jul 2008 - Remitted a total of $8,000.00 to the Api Wenuwen Api Fund for medical treatment and
Welfare of injured and active security forces personnel. Further $1500.00 is to be sent to
Sri Lankan Charities providing welfare services to injured service personnel.
2006/7/8 - Published numerous Media Releases on events and issues affecting Sri Lanka which could be
accessed in SLUNA’s website, SPUR website and in Google.
