Trish is Pregnant 1/27/02
Her pregnancy went well. She didn't have any morning sickness and her hormones were not too bad, at least that I could see. She did get violent during her pregnancy. Not actually physically violent just violent desires, though not at me. For example she would want to strangle kids that were making too much noise, or at work she'd want to run over people that came in or do other bodily harm to them. Normally this would not be unusual except for the frequency and harshness of the violent wishes. We just chalked it up to hormones ... though we did stop her from driving; there's enough road rage out there.
On January 15th, 2002 Trish's days of being pregnant were over. Around 8 am she started to feel contractions though not too badly and she didn't think anything of it. I was off to work and everything was fine. Through out the day she would feel contractions or out of sorts but she just figured it was false labor because the contractions were just in her abdomen and not all around her stomach also they were irregular. Around 1 pm I got a call at work that it might be a good idea to come home. We both thought it was false labor but just to be sure I should get home. And it was only an hour before I was supposed to leave anyway.
When I got home, about 30 to 45 min later, Trish was in discomfort but not full blown pain. We called the labor and delivery dept at the the hospital and described what was going on. They said if the pain got too bad she should come in. No rush, no worries right? So Trish decides to take a bath to help sooth the pain. While in the bath I hear my plug came out (kinda gross but not too bad) unawares to us at the time her water had broken too. When she got out of the tub she was full term labor and she knew it. She didn't think she was going to make it out of the bathroom much less the house to go to the hospital. She was very good about it; no crying, no screaming, just kneeling on the floor and swaying her hips not sure she was going to make it out the door.
Soon she did get dressed and we were out the door and on our way to the hospital. An hour ride for Trish, in the real world it was a maximum of 20 minutes, we were at the hospital, where her mom was waiting, and in the labor and delivery department of the hospital. She was up on the bed, the nurse came to check her and called for the doctor. Nyah was on her way.
