Pat-A-Cake, Pat-A-Cake
Baker's man
Bake me a cake as fast as you can

Roll it, and pat it
and mark it with a 'B'
and put it in the oven
For baby and me.

Movements

1st verse -
Sit across from your child with your knees almost touching theirs.
Both you and your child put both of your hands out and touch palms, then both of you clap your hands.
Repeat this several times during the first verse. This is called playing Pat-A-Cake.
2nd verse -
Both of you pretend to roll out a lump of dough in your hands
Then pat one palm into the other palm pretending to pat the lump of dough flat.
Then using one finger, draw a letter 'B' in the air
(Some people will draw the 'B' in their other hand or on the child's outstreched hand.)
Then use one hand to open a pretend oven door and use your other hand to slide the pretend cake into the pretend oven
On the last line , hug your child closely
