As if you couldn't guess already, this mod is based on the classic 80s movie, TRON. If you were growing up during this period and a huge fan of videogames, this was the film that offered the audience a glimpse into what it might be like to live life as a videogame warrior right in the game itself.

Great story, great special f/x and great music... there were even a couple of terrific videogames based on the film for the Intellivision (which sadly enough, I never got to play -- I owned a Colecovision system back then). It's very appropriate that since Tron got me into creating 3d models that I now return the favour by using some of those skills to create this Tron mod.

I hope everyone enjoys my personal tribute to this terrific movie. It was an incredible amount of hard work, but well worth it.

The MCP isn't relying on just I/O Towers to spread his influence to other systems -- all over the city, solar sailers are being rezzed up to carry his red army to the farthest reaches of the Internet.
Dispatching wave after wave of enemy red Recognizers, the command carrier blocks the way to the MCP.
Caught between a rock and a hard drive? Tron is attacked from both above and below -- dodging tank shells while maneuvering past the tightly-knit Recognizers will take nerves of neon.
Unfortunately, the corridors of the city may be even more dangerous: patrols of Recognizers and tanks are everywhere! Can even the toughest program ever written navigate these narrow passageways while fighting off attacks from front and back?
On the surface, a rendezvous with Yori and Flynn, who are onboard a stolen Solar Sailer.

They will lead Tron to the MCP but will he arrive in time before the MCP can spread itself to every system on the network?

It's red mayhem! Sark's carrier arrives to provide reinforcements to the MCP's ground units. Waves of red Recognizers descend upon the suddenly outnumbered blue forces.

You can either protect your fellow pilots or watch as the enemy turns your entire squadron into a cloud of scattered bits and bytes.

Get your deadly disc ready, Tron!

The moment of truth arrives at last: the
MCP lurks ahead, but as Tron races forward to put an end to his nemesis, Sark's Recognizer is almost upon our hero...
Aaaarrrrghhhh.... Tron learns the hard way that these carriers have been upgraded with weapons and a high-resolution forcefield. The only way to defeat the carriers will be to locate the source of the forcefield and derezz it.

After dealing with the carrier and its Recognizers, Tron's blue squadron flies into the ENCOM computer system.

(Some of you may be asking: "Why do computer systems look like
planets in the game?" Because the movie says so: Tron fans will recall that when Flynn is first digitized and his bits are being transported to the game grid, we pass over a brown-and-yellow planet-like sphere just before he materializes. So don't send me any e-mails asking about this :-)

Grid bugs wander into the city and climb along the tops of the buildings to get a closer look at the action above.

Of course, what they are
really interested in are those tasty morsels flying high above in the Solar Sailer!
Attempting to sneak behind Tron, an enemy Recognizer instead gets a taste of blue pain right where it hurts.
Incoming!!! As Tron attempts to enter the city's corridors, tanks lined up along the edge try to pursuade him to go elsewhere. However, there's no stopping a program with a mission.

Destroying the I/O Towers will prevent the MCP from spreading, but the tanks surrounding those towers are only interested in spreading your pixels all over the landscape.

Each tank's armor and weapons has been boosted by the
tank rings beneath it -- giving it far greater range than normal.
