Ranger Sightings - "Exogenesis"
- Scene: A bar in DownBelow [Act I].
Marcus is sitting at a small table. Another man leans forward.
"Are you ready?"
--- man to Marcus
Marcus nods.
The other man moves toward the entrance. He nods at another man, a ranger (or a contact of the rangers), and whispers something to him.
The ranger walks over to Marcus' table and sits down.
"What do you have for me?"
--- Marcus to Ranger
"Message from Ranger One on Minbar. He recommends our people go on a heightened state of alert and pull back from Earth space. Word is something screwy's going on back home."
--- Ranger to Marcus
"This is not exactly a revelation. Anything else?"
--- Marcus to Ranger
"Shadow vessels. They were sighted in Sector 800 two days ago. It seems they're gathering; creating a border on the edge of Centauri space.
"Oh, and that package you've been asking about just left Mars; should be here in about a week."
--- Ranger to Marcus
"All right.
"On your next supply run, I want you to make a quick side trip through Sector 800 and drop a long-range scanner, and get out fast. Let's see if we can find out what's going on out there."
--- Marcus to Ranger
The ranger gets up and leaves.
