"Points of Departure"

"Revelations"

"The Geometry of Shadows"

None seen.

"A Distant Star"

Possible:
- Sheridan and Garibaldi are talking about the shoplifting.
  - As Sheridan leaves and Garibaldi says, "Whatever you say, Captain", there's a figure over Garibaldi's shoulder, at the edge of the screen, that might be a ranger.
- As Captain Maynard is about to leave for the first time, in the customs area.
  - Sheridan and Maynard are standing in front of the passage leading to the docking bays, and as Sheridan says, "...that is a load of horsehockey", there is a possible ranger over Maynard's shoulder, in line.

"The Long Dark"

Definite:
- Amis's first scene in the Zocalo.
  - Amis is standing on top of the bar, and the human seated next to the Drazi on Amis's left appears to be a ranger.
  - As Amis shouts about, "...an army of darkness!", the ranger moves his seat closer. He then watches as Amis confronts G'Kar.
  - The ranger appears to be leaving as Garibaldi takes Amis away from Londo (look over Garibaldi's shoulder as he says, "Now unless you have a class C missionary license...").

"Spider in the Web"

Definite:
- The first scene, as Sheridan and Ivanova are talking about the seating for the Tikar delegation.
  - A blond ranger in a chair can be seen behind Sheridan and Ivanova from the point when Ivanova says, "...chairs placed precisely one metre apart in a star pattern, with the Helok on the centre chair...", until the end of the scene.
- As Abel Horn passes through a public area on his way to contact Control.
  - The blond ranger is sitting at a table, drinking, as Horn moves past on his way to the empty corridor where he contacts Control.

"Soul Mates"

Definite:
- As G'Kar and Sheridan are discussing Sinclair's reassignment.
  - A ranger walks in front of them as G'Kar is saying, "Do you? I still don't understand what that was all about".
- The scene where Sheridan meets Londo's wives.
  - A ranger passes between Sheridan and Mariel just before they meet.
  - The same ranger is then seen behind Timov and Daggair as Timov says to Mariel, "Getting your claws into someone else?".

"A Race Through Dark Places"

Possible:
- As Sheridan and Dr. Franklin are walking out of the restaurant(?) discussing the rent situation.
  - There is a possible ranger behind them on the landing of the stairs as Sheridan says, "Always knew I should have been a doctor".

"The Coming of Shadows"

Definite:
- *Due to the nature of this particular episode, I have a transcript of the scenes in which the ranger appears, rather than just a description.
- Scene 1: Customs area.
The Ranger comes into the customs area (from the docking bays), and hands his identicard to the security officer on customs duty.

"Oh, back again, eh? That's three times this month."

--- Security officer to Ranger

"I do a lot of business here."

--- Ranger to Security officer
The Ranger is looking around the customs area as he speaks, as though looking for something. The Security officer hands him his identicard.

"Anything I can help you with?"

--- Security officer to Ranger
The Ranger spots Garibaldi talking to a blond woman.

"No, thank you. I've found what I'm looking for."
--- Ranger to Security officer
The Ranger leaves.
- Scene 2: A busy corridor.
Garibaldi is busy giving orders to his people concerning the reception for the Centauri Emperor.
"From now on, nobody gets in without the proper ID - I don't care if you recognize them by sight or not."
--- Garibaldi to Security officers
As they walk along the corridor, the Ranger, who is behind a column, watches Garibaldi.
- Scene 3: A stairway and a corridor.
Garibaldi is walking down a set of stairs. A moment after, the Ranger hurries after him. When the Ranger gets to the bottom, no one seems to be there, and he starts to walk along the corridor, when Garibaldi's arm comes out from behind a column and points a PPG at the Ranger's head. Garibaldi then grips the Ranger's arm and pushes him against the wall.
"Okay, pal, you've got ten seconds to explain why you're following me."

"I need to talk to you."

--- Ranger to Garibaldi

"About what?"

--- Garibaldi to Ranger

"I--"

--- Ranger to Garibaldi
Just then, two security officers hurry up, and the Ranger glances at them and shuts up.

"Relax, I got him."

--- Garibaldi to Security officers

"So talk."

--- Garibaldi to Ranger
The Ranger looks up at Garibaldi and sighs.

"That's what I figured."

--- Garibaldi to Ranger
Garibaldi shoves the Ranger at the security officers.

"Take him down to holding and keep him there until the reception's over."
--- Garibaldi to Security officers
The security officers walk off with the Ranger between them.
- Scene 4: Garibaldi's office.
Garibaldi is in his office when Zack comes in.
"Chief, the prisoner's asking to speak with you again."

--- Zack to Garibaldi

"Oh, come on, Zack, give me a break. You know the kind of day it's been."

--- Garibaldi to Zack
Zack puts his hands behind his back and looks down for a moment.

"He says it's important."

--- Zack to Garibaldi

"Okay, fine, send him in."

--- Garibaldi to Zack
Zack goes out, and then comes back a moment later with the Ranger. He leaves, and the Ranger glances at the door.

"All right, you've got five minutes."

--- Garibaldi to Ranger
The Ranger reaches into a pouch/pocket on his belt, glances again at the door, and then walks a bit closer to Garibaldi's desk.

"I was sent to find you."

--- Ranger to Garibaldi
The Ranger holds out the data crystal he took from his belt.

"I have a message."

--- Ranger to Garibaldi
The Ranger puts the crystal on Garibaldi's desk.

"I believe this will explain everything."

--- Ranger to Garibaldi
Garibaldi glances at the crystal, then looks back at the Ranger, and then picks the crystal up and moves over to put it in a port. He glances at the Ranger, who's looking at the screen, and then turns to look at the screen himself.

"Play."

--- Garibaldi to computer
Sinclair's face appears on the screen. His hair is brushed back, and he looks a bit older.

"Hello, old friend. It's been a while."

--- Sinclair
Garibaldi looks at the Ranger, surprised, and then back at the screen.

"I'm entrusting this message to an associate of mine who is sworn to bring it to you at any cost, including his own life."

--- Sinclair
Garibaldi looks at the Ranger, who gazes back at him steadily.

"My job on the Minbari homeworld is more than just representing Earth. The President doesn't know about that part yet, and [Sinclair smiles for a moment] I don't think it would be wise for you to tell him."

--- Sinclair
[Ivanova informs Sheridan of the Centauri attack on the Narn.]

"The bearer of this message is one of my Rangers. Some are Minbari, most are human. They've been drawn here, to learn to work together, and prepare for the fight ahead."

--- Sinclair

"Pause."

--- Garibaldi to computer

"We've been here for almost two months now. Keeping an eye on things.

"We are an army, Mr. Garibaldi. We're small, but we're growing."

--- Ranger to Garibaldi

"An army needs weapons. Are they coming through here?"

--- Garibaldi to Ranger

"No. But we do have friends here. And that's all I can say for now."

--- Ranger to Garibaldi

"Resume."

--- Garibaldi to computer

"Their job for now is to patrol the frontier, to listen, to watch, and return with reports too sensitive to entrust to normal channels. They are my eyes, my ears. Where you see them, you see me."

--- Sinclair
[G'Kar hears the details of the attack.]

"In the name of our friendship I ask that you give them every courtesy and cooperation.

"I wish I could tell you more, wish I could warn you. But the others don't think it's time yet.

"Stay close to the Vorlon, and watch out for shadows. They move when you're not looking at them."

--- Sinclair

"Well I'll be a son of a--"
--- Garibaldi to Ranger
Garibaldi's link beeps, and he gets the message from Zack about G'Kar's rampage.
- Scene 5: Customs area.
Garibaldi is escorting the Ranger to customs. The Ranger is looking around, careful.
"I want to thank you again for your help. You may have saved the lives of a quarter million Narns."

--- Garibaldi to Ranger

"So then you will give us the cooperation we need?"

--- Ranger to Garibaldi
As the Ranger speaks, he stops and turns to look at Garibaldi.

"On one condition. I want you to keep me informed of what you and the other Rangers hear out there. If we've got a shooting war on our hands, we can use all the information we can get."

--- Garibaldi to Ranger

"Consider it done. As long as you keep our presence here a secret."

--- Ranger to Garibaldi

"You got a deal."

--- Garibaldi to Ranger
The Ranger begins to leave.

"Oh..."

--- Garibaldi to Ranger
The Ranger turns around to look at him.

"One last thing. Aside from me, does anyone know you're here?"

--- Garibaldi to Ranger

"Just one other."

--- Ranger to Garibaldi

"GROPOS"

None seen.

"All Alone in the Night"

None seen.

"Acts of Sacrifice"

None seen.

"Hunter, Prey"

Definite:
- As Sheridan and Garibaldi are walking down a set of stairs, discussing Cranston's men.
  - As Garibaldi says, "I'd hate to be on the wrong side--" a ranger walks in front of them. Garibaldi stops talking and watches the ranger head up the stairs [while Sheridan notices the red ribbon that is apparently the signal from his contact].

"There All The Honor Lies"

Definite:
- Londo and Vir are discussing the message from Centauri Prime in the Zocalo, just before Londo finds out about the doll.
  - There is a ranger that can be seen over Vir's shoulder as he says, "Don't I know that...".
  - Another ranger can be seen over Vir's shoulder as he says, "This came this morning...".
  - He can then be seen, again over Vir's shoulder, though at a slightly different angle, as Vir says, "It seems the job has become too...".
Possible:
- Londo and Vir are discussing the message from Centauri Prime in the Zocalo, just before Londo finds out about the doll; before the Definite sightings.
  - There is a possible ranger that can be seen over Londo's shoulder as he says, "Well, Vir, you must know that is changing...".

"And Now For A Word"

Definite:
- The first scene in the Zocalo.
  - As the reporter is saying, "...live and work here...", there is a ranger in the background who crosses from the right side of the screen to the left, passing between the two small tables on the left. [Note: This might be the ranger from "The Coming of Shadows"]
- *The scene in the corridor as people are running for the shelters.
  - As the reporter says, "We're on route to C&C..." through to "...being plugged into the station's external cameras...", there is a ranger running along the corridor towards the camera and past the reporter (he is second on the left as we first see him). If you look carefully, his brooch is visible as he gets close to the reporter.
- *As G'Kar is answering the question, "Is it worth it?"
  - There's a ranger standing at a stall as G'Kar says "I don't know anymore"; if you look carefully, his brooch is visible.

"In the Shadow of Z'ha'dum"

Definite:
- *The first scene in the Zocalo.
  - As Vir stops under a light looking at Morden [off-screen], a ranger passes in front of him.

"Knives"

None seen.

"Confessions and Lamentations"

Definite:
- *The last scene, in the Zocalo.
  - There is a ranger sitting at the counter, with one man in between himself and Dr. Franklin. He gets up and leaves as the news anchor is saying, "...although some Markabs may have...". As he gets up and turns to go, his brooch is visible.

"Divided Loyalties"

Definite:
- *Due to the nature of this scene, I am providing a transcript rather than just a description.
- Scene: Syria Planum, on Mars [teaser].
A man (Lee) stumbles forward through a tunnel. He falls forward, and as he looks up, a light shines on his face.

"Derek, is that you?"

--- Lee
A ranger (Derek) is standing in the tunnel, a small light in his hand. Part of his brooch is visible as he raises the light.

"Yeah. Lee?"

--- Derek to Lee
Derek hurries forward and grabs Lee's shoulders.

"I made it. I told you I would. I did it, Derek. I got the info."

--- Lee to Derek

"We'd better get you to the hospital."

--- Derek to Lee

"No. There's no time. It's all here."

--- Lee to Derek
Lee takes out a data crystal.

"Get it to them, Derek."

--- Lee to Derek
Lee puts the crystal in Derek's hand and closes it around the crystal.
"Get it to Babylon 5. Tell... tell them it's not safe. There's danger... one... in... Tell--"

--- Lee to Derek
Lee collapses; probably dead.
Derek looks at the crystal and then hears voices from the direction that Lee came from. He glances down at the crystal for a moment, closes his hand around it, and gets up to run.
As he starts to get up, his brooch is visible.

"The Long Twilight Struggle"

Definite:
- *Due to the nature of this scene, I am providing a transcript rather than just a description.
- Scene: Conference Center [tag]
There are a number of humans and Minbari in the room. Some are wearing ranger uniforms, but most are dressed in everyday clothing. At the far end of the room are Kosh, Garibaldi, and Delenn.
Sheridan walks into the room.

"Is it someone's birthday and I wasn't informed?"

--- Sheridan to Garibaldi and Delenn
Delenn begins to move forward.

"Most of these people have come to meet you for the first time. Some of the others you already know.

"They have come to pledge themselves to you."

--- Delenn to Sheridan
Delenn stops and turns around to face Sheridan (and Garibaldi and Kosh).

"Wh-- I-I don't understand."

--- Sheridan to Delenn

"They call themselves Rangers. They've been coming through the station now for some time, carrying information on the war, other things."

--- Garibaldi to Sheridan

"They have sworn their lives, their fortunes and their blood to help fight the coming darkness."

--- Delenn to Sheridan

"Have you known about these... Rangers all this time?"

--- Sheridan to Garibaldi

"Most of it. I found out about it about eight, nine months ago."

--- Garibaldi to Sheridan

"And you didn't tell me. Why?"

--- Sheridan to Garibaldi

"'Cause I promised a friend."

--- Garibaldi to Sheridan
Delenn starts to come back toward them.

"Captain--John--you see what is happening all around us. The Great War is nearly upon us. Now that the Narn/Centauri conflict has finished, the next wave will come soon, even more deadly.

"There must be one fortress of light to stand against that darkness."

--- Delenn to Sheridan
Delenn stops and glances around.

"That place is this place. It must be protected at any cost."

--- Delenn to Sheridan and Rangers
Delenn begins to move forward again.

"Until now, the Rangers assigned to this area have been under my direct command."

--- Delenn to Sheridan
Delenn stops.

"I now transfer equal authority to you. And like them, I will stand by you in the days ahead."

--- Delenn to Sheridan

"Well, I don't quite know what to say...

"For the last year, things haven't exactly been going our way. I started to wonder if it would ever get better. I think it just did.

"Tell the other Rangers, the ambassadors, everyone in this--Army of Light--that Babylon 5 stands with you. Tell them--tell them, that from this place we will deliver notice to the parliament of conquerors that a line has been drawn against the darkness. And we will hold that line, no matter what the cost."
--- Sheridan to Rangers
Possible:
- In the Zocalo, during the first ISN report of the Centauri bombardment of the Narn homeworld.
  - As the anchor is saying, "...that the Centauri Republic has begun a devastating assault on the Narn Homeworld. Reports continue to come in...", there is a Minbari standing behind the male Narn at the counter. The Minbari appears to be the same one that is standing to one side of Sheridan in the conference center, as Delenn introduces the Rangers to him.
  - As the anchor says, "...neither government has confirmed nor...", the Minbari hurries away.

"Comes the Inquisitor"

Definite:
- *The first scene, while G'Kar is making his speech in the Zocalo.
  - At the far right bottom of the screen, between two Narns, is a sandy-haired ranger. As G'Kar says, "Does anyone here truly...", he starts to walk away, glancing back for a moment and shaking his head. He heads past the tables and leaves as G'Kar is saying, "...now that they've seized our territory...".

"The Fall of Night"

Definite:
- *In the Zocalo, after the events in the Zen garden.
  - A black-haired ranger crosses the corridor, passing behind Londo as a Narn begins, "It was G'Lan...", and passing behind the Narn as he says, "...with my own eyes...". His brooch is visible throughout the scene until the point where he passes behind the Narn.
Possible:
- In the customs area, while Sheridan and Ivanova are meeting Lantze and Welles.
  - As Lantze says, "This is Mr. Welles, my...", there is a possible ranger, a man in a dark cloak, who walks past Sheridan, heading toward the docking bays.
