As you may have guessed I am currently umpiring baseball which even my girlfriend (`Bashful on EfNet of irc) will admit is my 1st true Love!!

I have spent the last 15 years Umpiring Baseball in Ontario. The organizations I have had the privilege to work with are "Guelph Minor Baseball", "Hamilton District Baseball Assocation", "Central Ontario Baseball Association". All these fall under the "Ontario Baseball Association" which is part of "Baseball Canada".

Prior to umpiring I was an Official for "Ringette Canada". I was Official in Chief for "Guelph Ringette" for 2 years, and officiated many Provincial Championship Games in my 10 years as a Ringette Official.

One of the big differences I have noticed from Baseball and Ringette Tournaments is the difference in how officials are used to work the games. Most Baseball Tournaments use the home town officials.

All Ringette Tournaments have a vast majority of home officials, however each visiting team in the Tournament (past information, I gave up officiating ringette in 1991) is required to bring at least one official to the tournament. No official is allowed to work their Home Association team game at a tournament, and they try to scheduale no two officials from the same assocation to a game. This allows a better exchange of ideas throughout the province and forces the officials to learn to work with new partners.

I am a big addict to the "Realms of Dispair" MUD(Multi-User Dungeon). This is an AD&D style MUD which has many great people. The Guild of Rangers and "Guts'n'Glory" are two of the groups I socialize with the most on RoD. My character name is 'Racin', feel free to drop me a line if you are on the MUD ;)
