Hello friends,
Since July 2009, The WLH Director's have requested that I take the
function of WLOTA Vice President. I'm happy to work for the WLOTA.
This award is a very big program with many diplomas. The first
decision that I have take is to open the Continental diplomas. For
that we have also now in WLOTA HQ Didier F4ELJ. Didier is the
designer of all Continental Diplomas and also the WLOTA Diplomas 
continental manager. You will see during many months all sample of
these diplomas. Sure you will be many Oms and SWLs to request these
diplomas. During my holidays in September, I will be in FM (WLOTA
1041) and FG (WLOTA 0644). Happy to have QSOs with WLOTA Hunters.

How to be WLOTA member:
To be WLOTA member, you must send 10 Euros to WLOTA. With the WLOTA
member card, you can request any number of WLOTA diplomas. The
Diploma's are free for WLOTA member. Your membership will be ok from
date to date for one year (not January to January).

WLOTA Diploma's:
Didier F4ELJ has worked many times since April for the Continental
Diploma. We are happy to say that WLOTA DIPLOMA'S EUROPE are now open.
How to receive WLOTA Continental Diploma?
For mixed and SSB mode: You need to have 50 different lighthouses in
the same continent. New Award each 50 Lighthouses in the same mode.
For CW and Digit mode: You need to have 25 different lighthouses in
the same continent. New award each 25 lighthouses in the same mode.
Digit mode is all modes (outside CW and SSB).

Explanation about WLOTA Rule:
For Expedition:
1 - Verify if the island where you go is in WLOTA List (In web site list
    is by continent and DXCC).
2 - The island as a WLOTA number. You can use this number anywhere in the
    Island. For WLOTA it is not necessary to be near the lighthouse but
    only in the same Island as the lighthouse.
3 - Your expedition needs the validation after expedition if you read in
    the WLOTA list the word "YES".
4 - For validate your expedition, you must send the annex 6 "Validation
    Expedition" and a proof of expedition. The proof can be copy of Boat
    Ticket, Hotel, Photo of expedition on the Island, Photo with the
    lighthouse are welcome.
5 - After validation, you will receive a WLOTA validation card.
6 - Your expedition does not need the validation if the Word "No" is in
    the Column "Validation required".
7 - Your qsl will be accepted for the WLOTA award only if the WLOTA number
    is printed on QSL or on QSO Label.

WLOTA Checkpoints:
We inform that WLOTA has now a WLOTA Checkpoint for Asia except countries
in Russia:
- Jos' VU2JOS.
We inform that WLOTA has now a WLOTA Checkpoint for North America:
- Dave VA3RJ.
We inform that WLOTA has now a WLOTA Checkpoint for South America:
- Orlando PY2TJ.

WLOTA Merits Award:
You have made a WLOTA expedition during the year 2008. It is not too late
if you want participate and receive a Wlota Merit Award for:
   - Beautiful QSL in each continent: send your Qsl (back and front)
   - Difficult WLOTA Expedition: Send all documents, pictures, films
     concerning, the situation of the lighthouse, difficulties of
     preparation of the expedition, access and installation.
   - Service rendered to WLOTA: Send to WLOTA HQ the call sign of OM
     or YL has an action in favor of the WLOTA during the year. Explain in
     a little text why this call sign can receive this WLOTA merit award.

WLOTA Trophies:
Trophy Best Expedition: See the page "Trophy Best Expedition" on WLOTA
web site. You have the criteria of WLOTA HQ for receive this prestigious
trophy. (A trophy in each continent and a WORLD Trophy)

WLOTA Expeditions 2008 not accepted for WLOTA Award:
Expedition proof and annex 6 not received after expedition (Validation
obligatory) - Don't send your QSL for the moment.
