July is Here !

July 1 through 5
Not much visible change. Called Cigas about the price for the fireplace, information, they were supposed to supply 9 days ago! The idea of putting in Oil instead is starting to cross my mind .

Bricks arrived.
July 7 Basement floor was poured in the main house today. Some windows have arrived, and we dropped off the laundry room's exterior door.
July 8
Cigas called back with the price of the fire place, but not cost of the installation.
Ruby changed her mind and picked out new ceramic tile for her bathroom.
Called Dale re cabinets in Living Room. ( hard man to get a hold of)
Some windows installed, progress has really slowed down.

 35 days until completion ?

Dale called back, we are going to meet him at the house tomorrow.
July 9
It's raining today, but work should be able to progress inside.

Work they did, most of the windows and doors were installed.

Still not able to meet up with the Cabinet Maker (Dale) hope we have better luck tomorrow.

Dropped off 6 bundles of sound insulation for the master bedroom and laundry room.

Spoke with Dave and he says insulation should be done early in the week and drywall and brick started by the end of next week

Bought the rest of the Light fixtures, hopefully that's done!

34 days until completion.
July 11 Finally met up with Dale, he showed us an example of the wall unit he is building us and we were very pleased.

Faxed Dave a bunch of information, including request that bathroom light fixtures be raised to accomodate large mirror, we bought today.

Construction was started 2 months ago today!

32 days until completion
July 12 


Ordered faucets for the bidet, and the skirt for the tub.

Cigas finally called back with a price.

Tub and Shower were installed and the plumbing inspection is scheduled for tomorrow.

31 days until completion.

 
July 13 Confirmed that Cigas will be installing the fireplace, dryer vent and outlet on the deck Friday.

Spoke to Dave and he said the bricklayers will be setting up tomorrow. Yeah

Insulation is progressing nicely and drywalling should start Thursday, with taping to begin on the weekend.

Plumbing inspection passed.

Ruby wants the position of the bidet and toilet switched, Dave is going to call with the $ amount for the swap.

30 days until completion.
July 14 Bidet position swap is out! Apparently it might take up to a whole day for the plumber to do.

Most of the insulation was done today and tomorrow they start to drywall !

Brick layers set up today and will start tomorrow.

Closet in Isabella's room was cut down to the right height.

29 days until completion.
July 15 

Brick layers everywhere, apparently there were 8 of them working on the house today and it really shows. We are really happy with the brick choice we made.

Drywalling was progressing quickly in the great room.

Dale is coming tonight to discuss pricing of wall unit.

28 days until completion
July 18

 Drywallers, must have been there all weekend as there is several coats of mud already applied
 

Doreen and Red dropped by the house and we gave them a tour.

Noticed a few things we have to talk to Dave about, phone, central vac, etc.

Can't wait to see the progress this week will bring.

July 19 The bricks are 75% done on the back of the house.

Floor was poured in Nonna's basement.

24 days until completion
July 21

Drywall is almost complete in  most of the main house.

The back of the main house is almost completely bricked. The furnace guy has begun the the duct work.

Dropped off latest installment to Dave today.

July 22

Glass for front door arrived today and will probably be installed tomorrow.
 
 


 

Brick layers are progressing quickly and now have more than half the house done.

July 24 Met with Dave today and decided on paint colours, door knobs and other stuff.
We are gone for the week, so no updates till we get back.
