Grapefruit Records is a cd compilation/internet mp3 distributor label that seeks the participation of artists to share in a co-operative means of promotion and distribution of their work internationally. Artists get involved with Grapefruit Records for the simple reason that they want their music to be heard; not just in the local clubs or even within their country's borders, but worldwide.
Our internet cd compilations are, by the very nature of the internet, international - independent bands and solo musicians from all over the world are brought together on each cd. Each artist then participates in the promotion and distribution of the compilation projects in their part of the world which thus gives international exposure to all the other bands involved. This project is operating on a non-profit basis. (Most costs are covered by friends with web servers, etc..) The artists involved will help decide on the compilation title, art, etc... They will also be showcased on the website with photos of the band, downloadable mp3s, news about the band and any info on their latest gigs. You in turn purchase the compilation CDs at cost ( the price that just covers the production, we are aiming at 7 - 10 $CDN a CD), and you may buy as many or as few copies as you want and sell them at whatever price you choose. You dont even have to buy them, if you feel they won't be beneficial. We will also send out stickers and other promotional materials to the people involved to post at bars, music stores, etc, in their area. Thus increasing general awareness of the site at a very low cost.

Grapefruit Records however does not accept every musician that wants to be take part. We will be trying to keep a level of quality, in hopes of creating a buzz around the site that all the bands involved are great. There is no point having a site where all the good music is buried beneath tons of shit. Grapefruit Records will not own the rights to any of any of the music you submit to our compilation CD or website. Everyone involved has the right to choose whenever they want to be no longer part of our operation.

Ultimate goals include - A Showcase of the bands that are part of the project at a great Venue.
