Fronted by former Black Flag singer Henry Rollins, the Rollins Band helped set the stage for '90's alternative rock in the late '80's with a furious amalgam of punk and metal. Rolling Stone called the band's major label debut THE END OF SILENCE, "The heaviest jazz record in history or the most intricate hardcore document to date," (April 16, 1992). In 1995 they were nominated for a Grammy for Best Metal Band for their 1994 disc WEIGHT. Rollins and company unleashed further mayhem with COME IN AND BURN, their debut on Dreamworks Records. In addition to his work with the Rollins Band, Henry Rollins is, of course, a noted writer, spoken-word performer and actor, as well as a publisher and proprietor of his own label, Two Thirteen Sixty One Records.

The Rollins Band is:
Henry Rollins (vocals)
Chris Haskett (guitar)
Melvin Gibbs (bass)
Sim Cain (drums)
Theo Van Rock (low-end ranger)

Rok Legend Music/Nineteenoro Music (BMI)

Comments:

Rollins is a big Black Sabbath fan, so it's no surprise to see the Rollins Band have some participation in this promo disc from the Ozzfest '97 tour.
